TGS 2008: Microsoft Booth Report
Star Ocean 4 versus Last Remnant!
October 9, 2008 – Just like Sony in the neighboring hall, Microsoft’s Tokyo Game Show booth this year looked a lot like its booth from last year. Sony and Microsoft appear to have contrasting exhibition styles, with Microsoft going for a brighter, more open look compared to Sony’s dark, tightly packed booth.
The big draws at the Microsoft booth were presumably Last Remnant and Star Ocean 4, neither of which was on display in the neighboring Square Enix booth. Last Remnant was set up with sit-down kiosks and managed to draw a line throughout the first day of the show. Star Ocean 4 didn’t appear to be drawing too much of a crowd on the first day, but this will presumably change once the public is let in.
Like Sony, Microsoft had a special area set aside for 17-and-up titles. Strangely, when we tried to enter this area of the booth, we were told that press was not allowed in.
Outside of its first party lineup, Microsoft had kiosks set up for pretty much all the Xbox 360’s third party output.
